It’s been some time since I updated this blog (always feeling kind of lazy these days) but haven’t got around to it. I was going to update with each video I uploaded to YouTube, but I was having a few issues. I wasn’t too happy with the quality my PS3 was producing for some reason at 720p, after looking at my Super Street Fighter 4 video and my Final Fantasy 13 test videos. However I have gotten to the root of the problem nothing to do with the Hauppauge (GREAT), but it was to do with the component cables I was using which were third party ones. So really I should have known that third party accessories are a waste of money most of the time. It doesn’t matter now as I have bought some official component cables, which strangely is tough to find but they work well and the quality is fantastic and I am really happy with it.
The other problem was my PC which took ages to render a ten minute videos in Sony Vegas Pro. It was just something that bothered me so much, so I decided to upgrade my PC. The end results I am very happy with, now that rendering times are a lot lower than they were before from 2+ hours down to 40 – 30 minutes. It’s not just the rending times I’ m happy with overall PC performance is boosted tremendously and I can do a lot more with my PC now then I could do before.
Lastly the other problem was and still is uploading videos to YouTube. Granted my upload speed isn’t fantastic but YouTube doesn’t help much even when using the advanced uploaded. I still pretty much have to restart my upload when my connection drops as the advanced uploaded seems to fail at re-uploading the most resent chunk of the file. Anyway there isn’t much I can do about that and I’ll just have to deal with it. Below are a few test videos that I uploaded a while back.
